Happy New 2020!

The Fabulous Keen Brothers wish you a belated Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy New 2020!

Our 4 piece band is performing tonight at The Wigwam Resort from 7 PM to midnight to bring in the new decade. The attached image pretty much explains all the details. Larry Keen, guitar & vocals, Bob Sheade, keyboard, Steven DeVoss, on his smokin' electric guitar, and Mark Foster, drums. Hope to see you all there! I promise it will be a fun and memorable night!

Band Name Change ~ The Fabulous Keen Brothers

We have changed the name of our band to The Fabulous Keen Brothers.

Larry Keen, the ultimate front man with his powerful and beautiful voice commands while playing his acoustic guitar. Bob Sheade, conducts his masterful keyboard skills as always. The groovy Mark Foster, the man who sets the tasty groove is on drums.

We are still able to perform a wide variety of country favorites. Our extensive music catalog covers a wide array of genres from rock, jazz, blues, country and standards to originals. When the opportunity presents itself, we are able add even more Fabulous musicians to our list of talented band members.

The Fabulous Tommy Benson formerly with Tower of Power rocks out on his electric guitar with us & promises to blow your hair back. The incredibly young and talented Travis Snowberger on his bass guitar as well as his electric guitar is available to us as well. Add TJ Johnson to this talented list, a saxophonist, in addition to his abundance other brass instruments. TJ dazzles everyone with his signature silky smooth jazz sound.

PRESS RELEASE: Two Lane Highway Celebrates 4th Anniversary

Litchfield Park, Arizona resident and former LA recording musician, Larry Keen, is celebrating his four-year anniversary of playing at The Wigwam Resort.  Keen and Goodyear keyboardist Bob Shade started playing together at The Wigwam in early 2014 on Saturday nights, most recently as Two Lane Highway with Mark Foster joining on drums.  Please join us on Saturday, February 24th when Two Lane Highway takes the stage at 7pm to commemorate their four-year anniversary.  Their performances are open to the public as well as guests of the Wigwam.   Please see press release below for more information on the band and its members.

Press Release – For Immediate Release “National Treasure” Larry Keen Celebrates 4-Years Playing The Wigwam

Litchfield Park, AZ, February 13, 2018:  At the age of 16, now Litchfield Park resident, Larry Keen had his first brush with music fame when he traveled by train from his northern West Virginia home to Los Angeles to visit his uncle.  Getting off the train in LA his uncle saw the guitar that was strapped to Keen’s back and asked, “Are you any good?”  Keen responded that he felt he was.

After hearing Keen play in the train station, his uncle stopped, with the teenage Keen in tow, by the Troubadour nightclub in West Hollywood where he knew the owner.  Moments later, Larry was on stage with his guitar doing a solo performance. Following that performance, he was offered an opportunity to sit in with their house band while he was in the LA area.  That band was headed by two relatively unknown musicians at the time, Glenn Fry and Don Henley.  The band, of course, later became The Eagles.

Following his trip to LA, Keen returned home, continued developing his musical skills and eventually went on to college.  After obtaining his Master’s Degree, Keen decided that, despite being accepted to medical school, he wanted to pursue a career in music instead of the medical field and was on his way to New York City where he played on the famed New York Coffee Circuit from 1972-75, becoming one of the most popular artists on a roster that included Jay Leno, Jim Croce and Don McClean, playing to standing room only crowds.

In 1975, Keen moved west to Los Angeles where he and his music partner from West Virginia, R.J. Pollack, formed the R.J. Keen Band.  Keen would spend the next 20 years as a guitarist/singer/songwriter, playing with, and opening for acts such as Jim Croce, Jimmy Buffett, Bonnie Raitt, Loggins & Messina, Fleetwood Mac and numerous other big-name headliners.  Keen also recorded three records and performing at such LA music landmarks such as The Troubadour, the Bla Bla Café, The Great American Food, and Beverage Company, and a 6-year stint as the “house performer” at the legendary Sagebrush Cantina.  As has happened with many a great musician, the LA scene and national tours took their toll on Keen and he eventually was burnt out on music.  After a ten-year hiatus from music, during which he started and developed a business called Air Gourmet, which catered to celebrities when they traveled, Keen found himself longing to play professionally again.

In 1997, Keen sold his business and moved to Summit County, CO, where he eventually renewed his love of performing and entertaining on stage.  Keen credits playing with Michael Fauth, who plated previously with The Dirt Band and Alabama, and writing with Nancy Cook as helping him rediscover the joy in music.  In 1998, Keen and Fauth started playing together at The Great Northern Divide and later at the Park Ave. Pub in Breckenridge, CO to standing room only crowds.  Park Ave. Pub is owned by Vail Resorts.

After moving to the West Valley in 2012, Keen eventually met Bob Sheade, who was born and raised in Chicago and is a master on the piano and keyboard.

Sheade, who started his music career at a very young age, was influenced by The Beatles, Elton John, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder and R&B artists such as Earth Wind & Fire, The Spinners and Lionel Richie.  Sheade has also accompanied Tony and Grammy award winning performers and his soulful, comfortable, heartfelt playing style has been lauded in bringing out the best of those he works with. In the 90's Sheade’s interests turned towards contemporary jazz and as part of the John Kaizer Band and toured the Southwest. The band charted on Billboard and the song "Stolen Moments", which Bob co-wrote with John and received regular airplay on smooth jazz stations.

From 2000 to 2014 Sheade could be regularly seen playing solo piano at various resorts and restaurants around Phoenix.  Anxiously looking to participate in a duo situation, fate intervened and Sheade ran into Larry Keen at a gig Keen was performing. An exchange of information led to an initial performance and shortly thereafter Two Lane Highway was born.  Sheade’s diverse musical background and complete enjoyment in playing all different types of music is evident in the extensive and wide range of music on their set lists.

Sheade, now a resident of Goodyear, has stated that meeting Keen, forming Two Lane Highway and performing with him has revitalized his music career and brought great joy to his life. Keen is the musical brother Sheade had been seeking for many years.

Fast forward to 2018 and Two Lane Highway has been performing Saturday nights for the last four years at The Wigwam Resort, in Litchfield Park as a duo act with Sheade and Keen together and more recently as a trio with Mark Foster on drums, as well as a four-piece band with former Creedence Clearwater Revival and BB King lead guitarist, Steve DeVoss joining in.

Their weekly Saturday night performances at The Wigwam, under the stars when weather permits, are attended by those staying at the resort as well as locals who travel from all parts of the valley to listen to Two Lane Highway perform and the band never fails to deliver.  In fact, many guests of the Wigwam come back to stay year after year to see Two Lane Highway in action during their visits to the valley.

You can catch Two Lane Highway live at 7pm most every Saturday night outside Litchfield’s Bar & Grill inside The Wigwam.  And be sure to join us for the four-year anniversary show on February 24th.

Two Lane Highway, The Larry Keen Trio, Sheade & Keen and Bob Sheade soloist are available for corporate and private parties as well as community events, music venues, and weddings.  For more information on booking one of these acts for your event or venue, please contact Bob Sheade at or 623-225-3440.

Steven was influenced by guitar mentors, Eric Clapton, BB King and Jimi Hendrix, while learning about the music business at a wildly accelerated pace. He has worked with many noted musicians including singers Al Green and Shawn Colvin, and played with Credence Clearwater Revival and BB King.

Zach will be joining Two Lane Highway tomorrow night at The Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park, Arizona from 7-10pm.  This is a one night only gig for Zach because this young man is in high demand just about everywhere.

His dad, Rick White, a multi-talented musician as well as a man of many instruments & all around comedian will be there with Two Lane Highway.  Some of you may remember Rick White from "The Nacho Men" and several other musical groups in Denver, Colorado.  Rick and his family now reside in the Phoenix, Arizona area.

Band Name Change & Filming Tomorrow Night!

I have several new and special announcements.  The band has officially been re-named to Two Lane Highway.  This is the last and final name change we will make.

Tomorrow morning, Saturday, April 9, Bob Sheade on keyboards, myself, vocals and guitar and Michael Mason on drums will be going to the recording studio to cut some tunes here in Arizona.

Michael Mason, my long time friend & drummer from LA is here for the weekend and tomorrow night the three of us will be performing at the Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park, AZ from 7 to 10 pm.  Michael and I have a tremendous amount of history together from the days of touring with my band all over the country as well as our LA days.  I can't tell you how much I treasure this time to be able to perform once again with Michael.

Michael is also a music producer, music editor and music mixer associated with well known movies and TV shows.  Some of which were Iron Man 2, The Scorpion King, The Replacements and Training Day just to mention a few.  Michael has also been Executive music producer and music production coordinator for television shows as NCIS LA, Providence, ER, The West Wing, the Drew Carey Show and many more too numerous to mention.

Jody Belsher of JBelsher Creative, from San Luis Obispo, CA will be doing the videography and photography at the recording studio and tomorrow night at the Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park, AZ
.  She will also be filming us live tomorrow night at the Wigwam for a promotional video for Two Lane Highway.  If you'd like to be included in the professional video tomorrow night, please join us and be prepared to be thoroughly entertained.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

A very Merry Christmas & a Happy & safe New Year to my friends & family from Two Lane Highway!

A huge thank you to the Santa here (far right) that works "behind the scenes." She makes Two Lane Highway look good except for the stupid hats she put on us. She's the one who gives us an online presence & tries to keep me on my toes. The other "Santa" (far left) thinks he's in charge of lighting. We picked him up in the desert somewhere.

Thanks for all your support & hope you will continue to follow us in 2016.
